cjsouth Member	# Posted: 20 Jan 2007 22:23 I am a huge fan of the Final Fantasy Series. I have played and beaten every game, except X-2. Than one just sucked. Running around as a bunch of stupid little girls, changing costumes and fighting other stupid little girls... A Virgin Nerd's dream come true (DOA beach vollyball anyone?)... but not mine. So Far I'm enjoying XII. It has some fantstic graphics, both in-game and Cinematic. The fighting system is certainly a step up from random battles and turn based attacking. All in all I think it's a huge improvement. The one HUGE gripe that i have that I am starting to have with every RPG of this nature, is the sidequests. You just can't figure this shit out on your own anymore!!! The sidequests and secrets are so Obscure that there is no way in 1 MILLION years that anyone would ever figure it out by just playing and experimenting. So what's left to do?.... Buy the strategy guide of-course! So now not only have I given $15 to fund corporate assholes and give them a reason to keep making games this way... but NOW i've RUINED the fun of discovering it out myself. I allways horrible because I couldn't figure it out on my own. i had to use the strategy guide. FFVII was by far the best game because you could honestly figure out every single side quest and secret in the game. There were hints all over the place. You still had to find the hints, but they were there. And once you completed everything... oh the joy you felt. That feeling of absolute achievement. In the newer games, it's impossible to complete it 100% on your own. Take FFX-2 for example. This is the MOST F*ING REDICULOUS THING EVER! Imagine this for 1 moment... you play through the entire game, feeling great because you beat every side quest and found every secret weapon and you're ready to kill the last boss. You kill the boss and you jump for joy... but what's this... you only completed the game 99.9% because you didn't talk to A FING GUY IN A F**ING MOOGLE COSTUME AT THE VERY BEGINNING OF THE GAME that you could have never known was there, unless you... THAT'S RIGHT! BOUGHT THE STRATEGY GUIDE! Sometimes it just really pisses me off. But none the less FFXII is a great game. I look forward to beating it and watching all the cinematics.
